Calvin- Rock Canyon Class of 2014

A Sneak-Peek!   The third senior from this family that I have had the opportunity to photograph.
I love the image because it brings together warm & cool tones and creates an awesome image of Calvin that even Mr Klein would approve of for an advertisement!

It's Throw Back Thursday: Best Senior Personality Ever

I have yet to meet a high school senior like Dylan; Intelligent, outgoing, funny and loved by all.  And when I was selected to photograph this big personality- I knew I had better meet his expectations and adequately capture everything about him!
Dylan wore his collection of Caddyshack/Rodney Dangerfield inspired pants and shirts and it goes without saying: we just had a great time and made a lot of creative images.  Inspired by his pants, we created the top photo (below) in the studio with an idea of making him hang from a pole like a flag...  however, at his order appointment his mom and I conspired to tell him that these images, "just didn't look good" so he would hopefully forget about the photos (that was tough for me because he was disappointed).  We hatched a plan: I would photograph the Rock Canyon High School flagpole and put him on it.  His parents purchased a full-page Senior Ad in the Rock Canyon High School yearbook and I created the layout with this photo and their sweet tribute to their son.  I couldn't believe it but they all managed to keep it a surprise until the day he- and everyone else at the school- saw it in the yearbook.  Oh, how I wish I would have been there!

Back to his photo session: We talked and laughed all through his shoot and he told me about his notoriously famous crazy tuxes he had worn to prom over the years and his plans for his Senior year: He  had to overwhelmingly top all past-years tuxes in obnoxious zaniness.  He described it to me and I had to see it.  I wanted to so badly, I volunteered to photographed the entire entourage of friends who had gone to prom together for years!  It was a lot of work but tons of fun, so on this 'Throw Back Thursday', I salute you Dylan!

Emily- Class of 2013

The summer between my junior and senior year in high school was all about making money and having fun- relishing the last few months of not worrying about much of anything. In short- it was all about me and I remember that summer well.
I have met my polar opposite in Emily.
She spent most of her pre senior year summer in the earthquake & hurricane ravaged country of the Dominican Republic, serving and helping to educate impoverished children.
Unselfishly.
In the brief time I am blessed to talk & photograph great kids like Emily, my hope for this generation is buoyed by kids with a servants heart. The media wants us to think that kids today are the,'its-all-about-me-and-I-want-it-now generation.' I think this stereotype is probably the exception and not the rule based on the kids we meet here.
(And as a parent, I know full well that kids with great character don't just 'happen' because the proverbial apple never falls far from the tree. As such, Scott & Leslie: you are great parents. GREAT parents. And as a father of three young girls, I may be calling you for advice one day!)
So, this is a girl with beauty on the inside that actually overshadows her outside- and as you can see, that is saying a LOT...

Elliot- Class of 2012

Amazing Colorado locations photographed at the perfect moment are what makes our hip little studio in Castle Pines Village totally different from the 'posing factories'.  Taking special requests for locations and turning them into something even more stunning than our clients anticipated is what continues to make Jimmy's Fashion Art Photography the best of the best of the best.  (I anticipate Elliot's great grandchildren will fight over this image in court a hundred years from now!)

Graham- Urban Senior Coolness

This is one of our  Urban Senior upgrade sessions and I absolutely love it when a senior wants something truly different.  Graham is just oozing with musical talent and his photo session & musical performances were an attraction for all the tourists- they thought he was a rock star and started photographing him as well!  One of my favorite sessions of ALL TIME, no doubt about it....
