Ruby Trust Cellars shocked the big established Colorado wineries this year when they were selected to have the BEST RED WINE in Colorado with their amazing Cabernet-Franc blend called, 'The Smuggler'. Grapes from Colorado's Grand Valley orchards, picked and crushed the same day then hand crafted in a blend to make a spectacular wine.
Watch for a repeat with the upcoming fall release of the 2010 vintage bottled just a week ago (make sure and watch in HD!)

Ruby Trust Winery
Amazing wines that are garnering praise are being made right here in Castle Pines Village. Braden Dodds (Owner of Village Wines) is not only an amazing Sommelier but also holds degrees in Enology and Viticulture from Cal Poly. So, to say he understands wine is like saying Albert Einstein understood jell-o.
With his experience and passion for winemaking, Braden partnered with Castle Pines Village residents Ray and Jean Bruening to establish Ruby Trust Cellars. Their first release of their delicious 'Detonation Rose`' immediately received great accolades and the vintage completely sold-out:
Just last evening, I was fortunate to be invited to photograph the 'crushing' of 2,000 lbs of Cabernet Franc grapes, hand-picked that same day at a vineyard on Colorado's western slope. I learned a lot more about the science and complexity of the wine making process, took some photos for them and was even sent home with a bunch of these grapes to share with my family. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see how successful Ruby Trust wines will become!
