Happiest Man In The World- Scenes from a book debut

To say that I am honored is an understatement.

From 6,000+ pages of personal journal notes detailing his trips to over 150 countries over the past 24 years, Dr. Jim Jackson, found of Project C.U.R.E. finally released his much anticipated book to his friends, family & supporters of Project C.U.R.E..  What a night it was for all who attended- however for me, it was the pinnacle of my photographic career.

I have been pestering & begging Jim for many years to allow me- when the time came- to photograph him specifically for the 'about the author' photo found inside the dust jacket of his book.  He has been working on this project for many years, so every time we spoke, I brought it up.  So when I was asked to photograph him for that photo AND for the cover image, I was in nirvana!  To put it in perspective:  if Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber or whomever is the current uber-star-of-the-day,  had asked me to do the same I wouldn't have felt the same way.  Why?  Because although these people are at the height of their popularity in entertainment & successful in pop-culture, are they changing lives and, making a positive significant impact on their world for now and for eternity?  That is exactly WHO Dr. Jim Jackson is- the embodiment of significance on this planet.  Because of his passion to give away everything he owns for the cause of sending surplus medical supplies to the impoverished of the world, his efforts and all those who have supported him & Project C.U.R.E. have saved thousands of lives and all of the generations to come.  Truly- I cannot think of a more significant person on this planet, can you?  Which is why seeing the photos I created for the book just make me feel so blessed to be a very small part of helping to share all of the stories that he has to tell with a message of how WE can also become significant in this world.
